The rules that apply in North Dakota

North Dakota has no cap on how much lot rent can rise, but requires at least 90 days' notice for a month-to-month tenancy, and blocks a new owner from raising rent again for six months if the previous owner raised it within 60 days of closing — an anti-flip rule most states don't have. Rule changes need 30 days, late fees are capped at 10% of monthly rent plus $5 a day, and violations carry civil penalties starting at $2,500 (N.D.C.C. §47-10-28).
